Youth Art Classes: Drawing and 3-Demensional Art

New Youth Art Classes Begin This January at Fountain City Art Center!

As we step into the new year, we’re thrilled to open registration for two exciting youth art classes designed especially for middle school and highs school students. These classes offer young artists the chance to explore their creativity, build confidence, and discover new ways to express themselves in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Monday Drawing Class — 4:30 PM (2 hours)

Our Monday Drawing Class introduces students to essential foundational techniques, including line work, shading, form, proportion, basic perspective, and creative composition. Throughout the course, young artists will develop their observation skills and learn how to bring their ideas to life on the page. Material lists.

Saturday 3-Dimensional Art Class — 10:00 AM (2 hours)

In our Saturday 3-Dimensional Art Class, youth will explore hands-on projects that encourage creativity beyond the page. They will work with clay, mixed media, paper and cardboard, found objects, and basic relief techniques as they learn how shape, texture, and structure bring artwork into physical space. Materials such as air-dry clay, paper clay, cardboard, cardstock, safe cutting tools, paints, adhesives, and finishing supplies are all included, ensuring students have everything they need to create imaginative and expressive pieces.

How Classes Work

Classes are booked by the month and run continuously throughout the year, giving students the opportunity to grow steadily and explore new mediums as their skills develop. Youth may choose to participate in one class or join both for a richer, more expansive artistic experience.
