Intro to Twined Basket Making

Participants will learn techniques of twined basket making. Through demonstrations each
participant will be taught how to make a round coaster and/or a small basket. (This is a
preview for a possible three-session class in twined basket making to be scheduled in the fall)

Intro to Macramé

Participants will be introduced to beginning techniques of macramé/knotting.
Through demonstrations each participant will be taught three to five basic knots used
in the old and ever popular craft of macramé. Participants will keep a small sampler.

Acrylic Painting Studio class with Connie Lynn Pico

Acrylic Paint is a modern water based medium adopted by many artists in all painting genres.
It is fast drying, permanent, very forgiving, and extremely versatile.
Acrylic Painting Studio is designed to meet each student's skill level from beginner to
experienced artist wanting to add to their knowledge of painting. Examples of acrylic
techniques taught are dry brush, layering, glazing, highlight, shadow, blending and textures.
Additional techniques will be added on an ongoing basis.

Beginning Drawing:

Drawing on the right side of the brain or tapping into the innate part of your brain that can
draw. I use exercises to help the artist change from analytical thinking to artful
thinking, tapping into one's natural ability using contour drawing.

Beginning Oil Painting:

I teach still life from my own references this way I am sure of the skills that each student
acquires. I use for still lifes in all. I teach textures (like glass, metal, cloth, etc),
brush strokes, color theory and color mixing, concept, composition and artistic theory.
